How Open Croatian Started

Open Croatian began as a place where I shared the Croatian language, culture, and everyday expressions with people around the world.Even before that, I enjoyed helping foreign friends in Croatia better understand the language by explaining vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and everyday expressions they encountered in daily life.As the community grew, more learners began reaching out with questions and looking for personalized guidance.That inspired me to create Croatian lessons and turn what started as a passion for sharing the language into personalized 1:1 learning experiences for learners around the world.

My Background & Education

Born and raised in Croatia, languages have always been a big part of my life.I have studied English, Spanish, Japanese, Arabic, and Brazilian Portuguese, giving me firsthand experience with both the challenges and rewards of learning a foreign language.I hold a BA in Arabic Language and Literature and work with Arabic through translation, proofreading, and editing, alongside teaching Croatian online.I enjoy sharing not only the Croatian language, but also the culture, expressions, and everyday context that help learners understand how Croatian is actually used in real life.
